Job description

We are looking for an ambitious and diligent Analyst to join our Strategic Valuation Services team based in London. The team executes valuation and financial modelling engagements in the context of transactions (e.g. M&A, pricing analysis, divestiture, joint-venture, fairness opinions), for financial reporting purposes (e.g. purchase price allocation, fund valuations, goodwill impairment testing), for tax purposes (e.g. legal reorganisation of large corporates, management incentive schemes) or strategic purposes (e.g. decision-making, capital efficiency, capital allocation, business plan development, management reporting modelling). Whilst we are based in London, we regularly work on cross border projects and there will be an occasional need for international travel.

As an Analyst in the Valuations Team, you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Preparation of financial and valuation models.

  • Design, perform and interpret advanced financial analysis.

  • Perform research as required into clients/industries and share findings in a succinct and well-presented manner.

  • Work with Project Leads and Project Managers on ensuring appropriate project planning, monitoring and administration is completed in timely fashion.

  • Assist with regular day-to-day contact with the client, including attending client meetings, drafting minutes, and preparing follow-up client communications.

  • Using initiative and sound judgement to identify key issues and client needs, implementing suggested valuation methodologies and approach, elevating and consulting with other team members as required.

  • Prepare deliverables including reports, presentations, and discussions with the different project stakeholders.

  • Takes responsibility for one or more wider team operational initiatives.

Job requirements

We expect our future Analyst to have:

  • Undergraduate degree with 1-2 years’ finance experience or CFA or Master’s degree in economics, engineering, business administration, or a related field.

  • Entrepreneurial and takes ownership for the project execution. Should be comfortable in a flexible fast paced environment.

  • At least 1 year of experience in valuations, corporate finance, investment banking or corporate development /strategy.

  • Experience in a variety of valuation methodologies including, but not limited to, discounted cash flow, earnings multiples, PWERM, BSM option pricing and Monte Carlo simulations.

  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.

  • Working knowledge of Bloomberg / Capital IQ would be beneficial.

  • Must have a curious mindset and be looking to innovate and challenge the status quo.

  • Excellent attention to detail with an ability to deliver high quality analysis and report drafts.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Display an excellent team ethos with a collaborative approach to executing work.

  • Self-starter who demonstrates initiative and confidence.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Prioritisation, time management and planning are a key skill for this role.

  • Speaking more than one European language would be beneficial.
